Mary began her career as a nurse in Dublin, Ireland, specialising in Intensive Care. It was a training that has touched every aspect of her life since – from the empathy and purpose she applies to the management of client engagements to the collaboration and leadership she brings to those in her team. Mary’s move into healthcare communications came on the back of a Diploma in Business Studies and time on the front line of stakeholder engagement, in medical sales. Mary is a true internationalist.
Immensely proud of her Irish heritage, she has previously held senior director positions within leading international public relations agencies in both Dubai and Singapore, together with a Regional Director of Communications role within GSK, Middle East & North Africa (MENA). She joined Weber Shandwick in 2008 and has since gone on to build one of the most respected Healthcare Practices in Australia. When not implementing healthcare communications programs across multiple stakeholdergroups within human and animal health, Mary can be found feeding her passion for animal welfare and spending time with her beloved rescue dog, Sam.
